Make Your Own Vegan, Hand Poured Soy Candles
5 Fun Steps
Step 1 : Choose containers you like
Candle Deli has a range of plain glass containers which you can label or brand as you wish. Both glass and ceramic containers work well for soy wax. Ensure that you choose a container which is heat resistant and has a thick bottom. Choose a container with a diameter between 6 and 7 cm.
Step 2: Gather It All Around
Find a clean, level bench or work table, preferably close to a microwave. You can melt soy wax in a microwave, on a gas stove, or on an electric stove.
Checklist :
- A quality fragrance oil of your choice
- Soy wax
- A suitable wick which matches the diameter of your container
- Sosatie Stick and a Clothes Peg, or similar
- Container
- Heat resistant glass jug (if using a microwave)
Step 3: Just Do It
Melt a little soy wax in your microwave. Cover the bottom of the glass with melted soy wax. Position the wick and leave the soy wax to cool.
Tip: If you struggle to keep the wick in place you can glue it down with a clear glue.
Keep the wick centered and upright in whatever way works for you. The Candle Deli soy candle making kit comes with everything you need to get started.
Step 4: Mix It Up
Melt the rest of the soy wax. Add a fragrance oil of your choice. Fill the glass and leave to cool.
Step 5 : Share the Love
Keep it for yourself or give it to someone special.
